IMS Competition filters and showers
IMS is specialized in making high quality showers and filter trays. Initially, these filters were developed for baristas who participate in competitions, hence the name Competition. The filters and showers are made with much greater precision than standard ones. The holes are laser cut and extremely well distributed. Also, the surface is extremely smooth. All this ensures a much better water and pressure distribution and therefore an even better extraction.
Unfortunately, showers are not (yet) made for all brands. For the availability of showers for your brand of machine, look at the relevant parts page or in the overview below, Filter baskers are available for brands that use the E61 size (outer diameter edge 70mm, tamper size 58mm. This size is used in all machines with an E61 group, but many other brands also use this "standard" such as Bezzera, Rancilio, Ascaso (Steel Prof/PID, Dream PID and BAR(ISTA)), La Marzocco.
In addition, there are smaller baskets for specific brands such as Gaggia, Cimbali and 57mm groups. If in doubt, you can always send an email.
The filter baskets are available in various depths so that you can choose 1 that suits the dosage you use. The depth and dosage are stated with the articles. Pay attention to the depth of the largest filters, they do not fit in all filter holder, but in all naked filter holders. In addition, there are also so-called ridgeless filter baskets, these have no edge in the side of the filter. This allows the water to be evenly distributed and may also be suitable for a 58.5mm tamper (58mm is also good).
