When installing new discs, the grinder's adjustment bolt may need to be readjusted. The Quick Mill grinder is factory-adjusted with an adjustment bolt to prevent the discs from touching. We find that when installing new discs, the grinder sometimes doesn't reach a fine enough setting at 0. This can be adjusted; we explain the procedure below.
- Ensure the grinder is completely empty and vacuum it clean.
- Remove the coffee grinder outlet (2 screws Ph01).
- The discs are now visible, as is the adjustment screw on the right side.
- Set the grinder to a slightly coarser setting, and the adjustment screw can now be turned down a bit with a size 7 wrench.
- Now turn the grinder all the way to its finest setting and see if you can turn the grinder by hand (via the bottom disc holder bolt).
- Adjust the adjustment cam in this way so that the discs just barely touch. Run the grinder once without beans, you should then hear whether the discs are touching each other.
